Staying Healthy and Coronavirus

The latest health advice and current status  of Coronavirus in New Zealand is regularly updated on the NZ Ministry of Health website. Beware of hoax emails and fake websites.

The website offers official health advice for New Zealand including for travellers to NZ, travellers recently returned from Hubei province, symptoms, treatment if unwell.

We will keep an eye on this page and update when necessary as the advice is under active review and updated daily.

As at 1 Feb No cases of the virus have yet been identified in New Zealand. The NZ Ministry of Health advises that the likelihood of a confirmed case in New Zealand is “high” due to the rapid spread of the virus to other countries. It added that the likelihood of a sustained community outbreak of the disease in New Zealand “remains low”, due to this country’s readiness to deal with it.

Staying Healthy

  • practicing good hygiene (including properly washing hands, sneezing into tissues and disposing immediately, not sharing drinking containers, self-isolating if you have flu-like symptoms)

We will have additional hand sanitizers around the venues to assist.

We would like all YSA who wish to attend the convention to be able to attend. The registration form allows you to list any medical conditions, medication, allergies or dietary requirements. There will be limited options provided by catering for those with special dietary needs.

For all other medical issues, you will need to be able to take care of your own needs. We encourage you to discuss these with others from your ward or stake who will be attending with you.

There will be first-aid staff on site at all times to assist in any emergencies.
