Welcome to NZ National YSA Convention 2020
Talofa lava, Malo e lelei, Bula vinaka, Ia orana, Aloha, Taloha Ni, Mauri, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Kia orana, Kia ora koutou katoa and warm Pacific greetings.
We are excited to welcome you to NZ National YSA Convention 2020
The chosen theme for the Convention is taken from 1 Nephi 19:15-18.
"...they no more turn aside their hearts against the Holy One of Israel, then will he remember the covenants which he made to their fathers, yea then will he remember the Isles of the Sea, yea and all the people who are of the house of Israel will I gather in saith the Lord..."
We desire that you know as YSA that you are remembered by the Lord as you continue to turn your hearts to Him by making and keeping covenants with Him. Nephi wrote these words 600 years before the birth of Christ, that he might persuade us all to "remember the Lord our Redeemer".
It has been 5 years since New Zealand last held a national YSA Convention so we are excited to gather all YSA to come to NZ National YSA Convention 2020- Isles of the Sea.
Convention has been planned so that you might enjoy the friendship, activities and time with other like-minded YSA, strengthen your faith and testimony of Jesus Christ and become more Christlike in all areas of you daily lives.
A couple of things to remember:
We look forward to being with you at NZYSA 2020 Convention- Isles of the Sea.
NZYSA 2020 Convention Organising Committee
Who are the Organising Commmittee?
Jeff and Fiona Nikoia- NZYSA 2020 Conference Directors
We love being with the YSA. They make us feel young and enthusiastic about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are also impressed by the hugely talented and blessed YSA we come across in our callings. You are all amazing!
We have served as Auckland Multi-stake Regional YSA Activity Directors since 2018 and are excited to learn and grow with the YSA in this additional calling to take responsibility for overseeing the planning of the first National YSA Convention since 2015.
We have 3 boys aged 11,15, 17 and a daughter aged 19. We now live in the ‘world famous in West Auckland’, suburb of Kelston where Jeff was born and raised. Fiona grew up in Rotorua. We both served full-time missions in the Japan Tokyo South mission, yes at the same time, but trust us, the hearts were locked until one year after our missions when we met for the first time in two years at an Auckland YSA devotional.
Va'a and Kelly Magalogo
Hey, Magalogo's here!
We have been blessed to be a part of FSY committees for the last few years and now have the honor of serving you on the NZ YSA Convention committee 2020.
We have both served missions, Kelly served in the Australia Sydney South mission and Va'a in the Fiji Suva mission. We currently have our hands full with our one year old son, Yates Magalogo. We are curently in the Waterview stake.
If you're not sure about coming, our invitation to you is JUST DO IT. We know that when you are in the right places, at the right time, with the right people, anything can happen.
See you all in February 2020!
I honestly thought after organising 4 CTR weekends and helping with a bunch of FSY’s I was all good to sit this one out. Man was I wrong!!! If you don’t know me as Tom from events... maybe MTC teacher or @themissiongeek or the guy that runs @churchofjesuschristpacific - I’m that 30 something that just can’t seem to stop popping in at the YSA ward and I probably know your older siblings. If you’re not sure if you want to come to convention... man! Join the club!!!...jokes! But seriously, just ask one of your older siblings or friends about some of our amazing events back in the day. You’re seriously gonna miss out if you don’t make it... cause honestly, I’m not doing another one of these!
